WORKING BETTER TOGETHER: LEADERSHIP SERIES
Fostering Workplace Relationships
There is a simple truth in any organization that can make the difference between success and failure. Whether you are a corporate or labour leader, work in the community, in an office or on a shop floor, engage with volunteers, colleagues or customers, you are in the relationship business.
The idea of relationship, particularly in working groups, can be an uncomfortable concept. It shouldn’t be. Relationship simply means connection. And having connections is part of being human. They’re inevitable and unavoidable. With care and effort, you can influence the quality and content of those relationships.
In Fostering Working Relationships, participants explore relationships at work, how they differ and why they matter. They share experiences to understand good relationships. They analyse a fictional workplace relationship, what’s working and what isn’t and recommend ways to improve it using the skills they’ve developed during the learning session. They draw on each other for advice and ideas to repair and rebuild existing workplace relationships. And come away with tips and tools to build and preserve their relationships.
Syzygy has worked with a variety of working groups, including unions and management, to help them move beyond job titles and functions to appreciating each other as human beings each with unique pressures and needs.
We can help you build positive working relationships, reflective of your organization’s values and culture.
"(Dan and I) started by sitting across the table from each other but, after a massive transformation in the industrial relations relationship, we began to sit together. Dan's leadership and guidance through this transformation was nothing less than astounding. He helped to guide his organization, the people and even the detractors, to ensure success and the beginning of a new relationship with the company... I would say that Dan was the key and most instrumental person to our continued success over the last nine years."
